Quantum Computing Researcher
Explore quantum ML algorithms and post-quantum cryptography. PhD or equivalent research experience preferred.
About the Role
Our Quantum Computing team investigates the intersection of quantum algorithms, machine learning acceleration, and post-quantum security. You will research quantum variational circuits, tensor networks, and post-quantum cryptographic migration.
Hanzo builds an open AI cloud — compilers, models, distributed infrastructure, and agent tooling. Our codebases are predominantly open source, and team members operate with high autonomy and end-to-end ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate quantum machine learning (QML) algorithms for combinatorial optimization and sampling.
Simulate quantum circuits using tensor network contraction and high-performance simulators.
Evaluate NIST post-quantum cryptography standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA) across the Hanzo platform.
Publish peer-reviewed research and collaborate with university research labs.
What We're Looking For
PhD or equivalent advanced research experience in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information.
Expertise with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane, or CuQuantum).
Deep understanding of quantum algorithms, error mitigation, and noise modeling.
Strong scientific coding skills in Python, C++, or Julia.
Nice to Have
Experience deploying algorithms on real superconducting, trapped-ion, or neutral-atom QPUs.
Understanding of quantum tensor networks (MPS, PEPS) for classical ML acceleration.
