Robotics Systems Engineer
Build AI systems for real-time robotic control. Experience with ROS, computer vision, and embedded systems required.
About the Role
Hanzo's Robotics team develops embodied AI systems that bring vision-language-action (VLA) foundation models to physical machines. You will build the real-time sensor fusion, teleoperation, simulation, and hardware control stack.
Hanzo builds an open AI cloud — compilers, models, distributed infrastructure, and agent tooling. Our codebases are predominantly open source, and team members operate with high autonomy and end-to-end ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy real-time VLA foundation models for robotic manipulation and navigation.
Design low-latency control loops integrating cameras, depth sensors, LiDAR, and IMUs.
Build high-fidelity physics simulations in Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or PyBullet for RL training.
Integrate ROS 2 hardware interfaces with on-device edge AI accelerators.
What We're Looking For
Experience with ROS 2, C++, and Python in real-time robotic systems.
Hands-on experience with robot kinematics, dynamics, trajectory generation, and state estimation (EKF, SLAM).
Familiarity with computer vision and machine learning deployment on embedded GPUs (Jetson, edge TPUs).
Track record of working with physical hardware and laboratory prototyping.
Nice to Have
Experience with imitation learning (ACT, Diffusion Policy) or reinforcement learning for manipulation.
Experience with robotic hands, dexterous manipulation, or quadrupeds.
