Cryptography Engineer (ZKP)
Implement zero-knowledge proofs for AI verification and on-chain compute. Experience with SNARKs/STARKs required.
About the Role
Hanzo brings verifiable AI to decentralized networks. As a Cryptography Engineer, you will design and implement zero-knowledge proof systems (zkML) that prove inference execution, model integrity, and verifiable credentials on-chain without revealing proprietary weights or sensitive user data.
Hanzo builds an open AI cloud — compilers, models, distributed infrastructure, and agent tooling. Our codebases are predominantly open source, and team members operate with high autonomy and end-to-end ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Design zero-knowledge arithmetic circuits for neural network inference layers.
Optimize prover time and verifier gas costs across zk-SNARKs and zk-STARKs.
Build cryptographic primitives for W3C Verifiable Credentials and decentralized identity (DID).
Audit and formally verify cryptographic circuits and smart contracts.
What We're Looking For
Solid mathematical background in abstract algebra, finite fields, and elliptic curve cryptography.
Hands-on experience with ZK proof frameworks (Halo2, Plonky2, Circom, Gnark, or RISC Zero).
Proficiency in Rust and/or Go.
Understanding of cryptographic security models and attack surfaces.
Nice to Have
Experience with zkML (zero-knowledge machine learning) pipelines.
Knowledge of EVM, Solana, or Cosmos smart contract execution environments.
